Fall Public Garden Mini-shoot #12

The final shoot of the 12 family mini-shoot day was a pair of twins I hadn’t seen since they were newborn sweeties, and now they’re big one year olds.  Perfect one year olds.

The light was streaming through the trees, all was right with the world :)

Except when K was told she was not allowed to eat leaves.  She did not like that rule.

But she got over it :)

Whee!

Love how K won’t stand here, and she’s cracking her mama up.  T is completely calm, showing his skills :)

Another Wheee!

And the ladies too…

Mama and her two.  Wonderful to see you guys!

Seo Young - October 20, 2011 - 4:58 pm

Very nicely done, Jess !! Love the pictures.

Fall Public Garden Mini-shoot #11

The thing is – these guys are just fun.  Just FUN. I missed them – it’s been years and I haven’t had a chance to take their picture since their boys were teenie, and that’s just one of the things I love about these mini-shoot days. I get a chance to touch base with people I haven’t seen in a while, and I love it.

I mean, come on – aren’t you jealous that I got to hang out with them?

Best part of this next one?  I totally didn’t set mom and dad up in the background.  They just sat like that on their own.

Love.

Both guys rocked their catching the ball photos:

Right?

So fun to see you guys.  Thanks Julie, for making it happen!!

Fall Public Garden Mini-shoot #10

I have one word for these two ladies.  OK, two:

My. Muses.

I haven’t seen them since they were nine months old, and I almost didn’t recognize them when I met up with them on the mini-shoot day.  This one is my hands-down favorite.

Every moment of their session made me so happy.  I loved meeting their grandparents…

The striped socks.

Their slightly mussed hair.

Their eyelashes.

Their expressions.

How very different (and yet similar) they are…

And the way they grasped hands when they got together for pictures. It just gave me chills.

Loved loved LOVED seeing you guys. So glad we got you a spot!

Adele Beekman - October 20, 2011 - 1:25 pm

They look so cute! I bet they’d look even cuter in matching Halloween costumes like two peas in a pod or a loving set of parents who let them play spider ring toss at the office party.

Christina Lip - October 20, 2011 - 1:44 pm

Wow! look at these two photogentic stars! How adorable! I just love all these photos. Especially the last one, where they are hand in hand, that just makes my heart melt.

Cheri - October 20, 2011 - 4:00 pm

Hmmmm, it is amazing what a good photographer can do to mask the chaos that lurks within. Oh wait, I’m talking about my child, who remains unphotographed. Do the photos help with the masking? If so, sign us up!

Fall Public Garden Mini-shoot #9

Race ya!

The twinkliest eyes ever.

Oh, and I forgot to mention they’re also crazy. ;)

Handsome devils.

Fall Public Garden Mini-shoot #8

My fave.

But there are so many more :)

You guys are so much fun :)

Thanks for coming in to meet me, you guys – wonderful to see you as always.

Fall Public Garden Mini-shoot #7

The eyes on these three just kill me.

One in particular.

Love the eyelines here – Dad laughing looking at Mom, Mom at J.  Beautiful.  Your eyes keep tracking around the triangle shape that their three sets of eyes create in the photo, don’t they?

Rockin’ the faux-hawk.

“Hmmm, what should I do to my parents next…”

Profile perfection.

Squeeeeeze!

Wonderful seeing you guys again :)

Fall Public Garden Mini-shoot #6

So much delight in each other.  The best.  Love love love to see these guys grow…

Squeeeeeeeze.

Beauteous.

Perfection in jumping, by G & H :)

Winging around with Dad #1:

And winging around with Dad #2:

Love seeing you guys as always!

Fall Public Garden Mini-shoot #5

Tickle torture, times four. Oh yes.

And my favorite part here is mama’s grin over her shoulder as all four zip past her.  Not to mention that the estrogen takes the race (Oh, fine, maybe it was a little bit set up… but still awesome)…

Love how R is about to clasp his hand over R’s face (to stem the tide of spit that had previously been coming out), and if only you could see this zoomed in close / the spit flying out of W’s mouth is obviously visible in front of J’s face.  Another awesome one.

One last silly one – Abbey Road?

Gorgeous, all of youse.

And we needed closeups of the youngest two, since it’d been a few years since our last shoot…

Delicious grin.

These four are just too fantastic.

Fall Public Garden Mini-shoot #3

Now this guy…

…is a good sharer.  He had his one year old pictures just a few weeks ago, so he called up his cousin Z and asked her if she wanted to join him for his mini-shoot in the Public Garden last weekend.  She said, “Oh, cuz. Totally.”  Her mama and daddy joined her:

Love this up in the air with mama in the corner one:

Handsome as ever:

Jennie can always be counted on for the goofy faces :)

The generous C-man thought that since he’d shared his mini-shoot, that Z should understand that this meant he retained all rights to any and all balls/fun equipment to be used at said shoot.  Z wasn’t as into this idea.

They discussed it…  C even let Z inspect the ball.

And after these guys squeezed all the fun that they could out of the ball, they moved on to snack time.

“Um, C? Whatcha got in there? k’I have one?”

Really fun to see you guys and meet more family!  Thanks for a great mini-shoot :)

Proud Mama - October 12, 2011 - 2:50 pm

Fall Public Garden Mini-shoot #2

It’s so exciting when I meet up with a family I haven’t seen in a while and poof, there’s another family member! Poof, look how lovely :)

And I am in love with this moment:

And a quick shift to a more energy-filled moment:

Even if C wasn’t really interested in posing, I love this anyway:

At least she loves hanging out for a quiet moment with her big brother and sister:

Wheee!

A’s face CRACKS me up here:

Loved seeing you guys again!

Erica Sweeney - October 11, 2011 - 10:36 pm

these are fantastic! the fact that the pics are taken in the Public Garden just make it all the more special

Fall Public Garden Mini-shoot #1

It’s that time of the year again!  We had a perfect day in the Boston Public Garden last Saturday (after only one rain reschedule), and twelve fantastic families came and met me for 20 minute minishoot appointments.  I’ve been taking pictures of these fantastic guys since biggest brother P was just a wee one, and many many times since then. My favorite moment, by far:

“I have the coolest brothers.”

-B

Replicating the wedding shot, Hancock Building in the back…

Loved seeing you guys.  Happy birthday, Kathy!

Spring Public Garden Mini-shoot #9: Seventeen years later

Um, so maybe Ellie and I were in the same freshman dorm SEVENTEEN years ago.  I just had to count that on my fingers and now that number makes me feel old.  Her husband Kevin was at our college too, so this was sooo fun to see them now, all kidded up.  I feel like Ellie and I were 18 year olds just a few minutes ago, hanging out in Hamilton living room watching 90210 and drinking Zima (wow, that means this was half our LIFE ago… ok, this is crazy, I must stop).

This one is one of the first pictures we took when we met up at the Public Garden for our 20 minute mini-shoot last weekend, and look how much fun the kids were instantly having with their awesome parents:

Zoom!

Like the tongue in this one:

A photographer’s group I have fun with is running an assignment this month called “Here Comes the Sun”. I’m going to submit this next one, it’s just too perfect for it.  Here are all the entries, it’s very fun to browse, these photographers are awesome…

This was super fun to see you guys after all that time – thanks for coming out!

Spring Public Garden Mini-shoot #7: See no, hear no, speak no evil

This handsome devil is another guy from my early years – he was three months old back in 2005 when we started taking pictures, and now he’s six, and as A.A. Milne says about six – he’s clever as clever.  This one was cool because I hadn’t seen him since he was three – and wow, three to six is a big change. Look how huge now!

I love this next nose-to-nose one, and I swear it’s not just because I covet Pam’s cowboy boots, big time.  I like the picture too ;)

This one was all dad’s idea, I can’t take credit.  But cool, no?

Eskimo kiss:

Peek!

I loved seeing you guys so much, thanks for coming out!

Spring Public Garden Mini-shoot #5: Three men and a little lady

I love these Public Garden shoot days because so many of the families I meet there end up being families who’ve become friends over years and years of photoshoots.  Now that they have bunches of older children it’s easy to meet up there and run around and have fun and get great pictures (as opposed to back in the day (2004) when oldest and 2nd oldest brothers K (2 yrs old at the time) and N (3 months!) were in diapers having fun at their house.

There’s something I adore about this one:

Make Way for Ducklings rodeo:

Love how littlest E looks on to see what her brothers are doing:

And they’re off!

Just the boys:

Just little miss:

Peace out, man.

Spring Public Garden Mini-shoot #4: Boys just want to have fun

Now, this is the kind of post that might embarrass the boys when they’re older, but I have to tell you – I adore shooting these brothers.  I’ve been taking pictures of them for years, and one thing is always evident to me, (being on the outside looking in) and that’s that they’re just really sweet boys at heart. We always get these incredibly loving pictures of the two of them, and it’s not me, it’s them.  It’s wonderful.

They’re awesome, playful, fun – and obviously just really enjoy each other:

And they crack each other up, which is key:

Wonderful to see you guys as always!
