The Public Garden, a bit wet

Dedication is getting up at 4am to get on the road from Philly by 5am to make it to Boston by 11am for a photoshoot. Dedication is saying, let’s go for it – even when the rain is pouring down (this was last Friday – pre-heat wave). And you know what? Dedication just happens to bring about pretty great photos.

I met these guys about a year ago when we did A’s first photoshoot when she was just about a year old. And then they moved to Philly :( But then they planned a visit and we got to do photos again! Can’t wait to meet #2 when they visit again next year.

Isn’t she lovely?

Here I am, giving in to my addiction again (I’ve mentioned it before… I’m addicted to the “throwing the kidlet in the air” shots. I’m looking into counseling options.)

Dipping toes in made feet a leetle bit dirty, but no harm there.

Catching sight of the ducks for the first time:

A lesson from mom about wiping hands off can be a game, too.

One of the best moments was when A caught sight of these two mallards and started giving them a little chase. Pretty funny.

You can barely tell that A is actually riding one of the Robert McCloskey Make Way for Ducklings ducks here, because she’s got such a good hold on his beak! I just loved her expression in this one.

All your photos will be ready in the next few days. It was great seeing you guys last Friday and I can’t wait to show you all the fun shots. It was definitely worth the early drive!

A gorgeous big sister

In just a few more weeks, 7 year old M will be a big sister, and she’s so excited! She’s going to be a dream of a helper, I can tell. She already loves kissing her mom’s belly :) Mom wanted to do these pictures as a present for her husband, who I think’s going to love them!

Look at this pretty girl:

Both beauties, close up with those smiles:

If M’s not careful, she could trip on those eyelashes!

And the sweetest thing is that M likes to read books to the baby in her mom’s belly…

Waiting for baby brother

I spent the later part of the morning with these guys — we had a great time. I’m excited to work on the rest of the photos; they’re so playful. Here, little A loved cuddling on the couch with her mom and dad. Doesn’t their living room paint look cool as a background texture? We got some really gorgeous pictures of Mom’s belly, too. (Mom and Dad – the rest of the photos will be ready by Friday at the latest, OK?)

I love this princess in her crown. What a sweet smile.

And I couldn’t help but post this one – I love it. It’s an outtake from our “kissing mommy’s belly” shots, both expressions are so perfect… I can’t stop smiling whenever I look at it.

Those last exciting few weeks

A and B got this photoshoot as a present from a bunch of their friends, and we get to do one after the baby’s born too. They were such a sweet couple, I loved spending time with them. Expecting the first baby is such a fantastic time – so exciting. I can’t wait to meet their new little person!

Here’s beautiful A alone. I love the lines of this one, the round belly within the more angular triangle. And there’s so much to think about with the first baby… I like the moment, too.

Two fabulous grins

I’ve been taking pictures of T since he was just a little guy, and it’s so fun to see him playing with M now! Just after she was born we did a shoot, and T was so amazing with her… just such a gentle, sweet brother, I loved it. I’ll post one from that shoot below. And then before that we’d done one last xmas when mom was pregnant with M, and we had lots of fun playing outside. Going back and seeing how families grow and change is one of the best best best parts of doing what I do.

When M was just 5 weeks old, and T was 3, earlier this year, I got to come meet her for her first photoshoot. I can’t say it enough – I love love taking pictures of big siblings with their new baby brothers and sisters. Their interactions are just so amazing. T was so gentle and sweet with his new sister.

And this is from last xmas, back in 2006, when M was still in her mom’s belly, we played outside a bit. I always have such fun with these guys.

And can’t forget T, back in the day at the Janie & Jack store photoshoot in Spring ’05 in my silver washtub with that yellow rubber duck. His little curls behind his ear and those lashes… you can see how much M already looks like him – I love it!
