Another belly, two years later

It’s been just about two years since I saw this little South End cutie for his (maternity and then) newborn pictures.  And now I got to come back and visit for some more belly pictures of his pretty mama and fun daddy, quick before they move out of their place.  Can’t wait to meet #2!

There’s something added into this classic shot… wonder if you can spy it…

Love that tongue :)

Such a pleasure to run around with you guys – thanks for having me visit.  See you in a few weeks! Yay!

Gwendolyn B - August 18, 2011 - 5:25 pm

A glowing horticulturalist

Yay, maternity photos again!  It’s been a month or two since I took someone’s belly pictures, and I forgot how much fun it always is.  This lovely sweet mama is not only gorgeous, but (see to the right behind her) she’s successfully keeping an orchid alive – something I’ve never been able to do.  Apparently the trick is three ice cubes once a week? That’s the perfect amount of water.  I have to admit I’m excited to try orchids again with this cool tidbit under my belt.

But back to gorgeous M…

She’s 34 weeks along here – I love the way the light hits her belly on the front right of this picture, just showing exactly how round and smooth it is.

I’m going to let you just look at pictures, I can’t gush too much more about how sweet M is and how fun it was to take her picture.  Enjoy :)

Wonderful to meet you!

Two ladies waiting

These two little girls are waiting, waiting, waiting soooo patiently for their little sister or brother to arrive.  And I’m going to try a blog post with a lot fewer words.  Let’s see how this goes.  I feel like the pictures tell enough of a story…

Wait, but just one more thing. Isn’t this a neat family shot, and do you believe Ali (mom) is due in 3 weeks, but still lifting 3 year old L high in the sky? Putting the rest of us to shame, girlie!

Pat Rana - June 30, 2010 - 2:18 pm

The pictures are so beautiful. What great photography with so much creativity. My favorites are the 1st two and 7,8 and 9. Ali, I think you are having a boy. You look fabulous and the girls are so beautiful. Nick you are just a big kid and fabulous too!

Pat

Janet Corrado - June 30, 2010 - 2:29 pm

What wonderful pictures. You have a beautiful family!

Jan Norsigian - June 30, 2010 - 2:36 pm

What a beautiful family. The pictures tell the story! Ali, I think you’re having a boy also. Such natural pictures without the look of a pose!

Bonnalee - June 30, 2010 - 2:36 pm

I enjoyed looking through the photos sooo much. I especially love the family photos- they were incredible! The girls holding Mommy’s belly & aren’t all Daddy’s tickle monsters!? The girls have grown so much. They looked like they had a blast during the photo shoot!
The girls aren’t the only ones waiting to see if they have a little sister or a little brother! Can’t wait to find out!

Karen Hastings - June 30, 2010 - 3:44 pm

Beautiful family! Picture 8 is my favorite. It’s so nice having a sister. You can tell how much they’ll enjoy each other as they grow. I’m going to throw my 2 cents worth in as well. I’ve thought all along you’re having a boy, and my instincts were right when I had Zach.

Colleen Tebo - June 30, 2010 - 5:29 pm

What beautiful photos!I love the picture of the girls sitting on the stonewall. It looks like they are telling each other a secrect.

Soon-to-be big brother

These guys were my 3rd Public Garden mini-shoot last Sunday, and I didn’t even know mom was pregnant before we met up there… so exciting! She looked incredible, and big boy B was adorable and ready to have a great time running his little 16 month old legs around the Garden.

The weeping willows tickle the nose when you nuzzle up to them, you know.  The things you only figure out when you’re a toddler…

Tickle those toes!

Handsome guy:

Splash splash –

Congratulations again on your impending arrival, guys!

3 years later, a beautiful belly again

Three years ago, I took pictures of this little guy in his pretty mama’s belly, and it was so much fun for me to get to see them again, but this time to celebrate his little brother or sister’s impending arrival.  Love this tender moment:

A PERFECT circle.  No joke.  No Photoshop trickery here.

Asking baby questions:

Reaching…

A cuddle for mama:

Handsome, handsome boy.

Pretty mama by the window:

All hands on deck!

Love the wedding photo in the background.  Looks like this should be titled “The Story of a Family”

Sweet baby smooches:

And lastly, palming the basketball belly.  Wonderful to share this time with you guys again, thanks so much for calling!

Giving the pup some love

This big handsome boy loved showing me his skills with a crayon this past weekend:
2705 by you.

And giving his dog some love. I adore this pup’s expression here. It’s so patient, but yet so knowing… As if he’s saying, “Really, guys? Really?” Reminds me of a photo I took a few years back of my little girl and our cat.

He took a bit of time playing stickers with his momma:

Almost there…

This little one decided to give his/her parents a kick as we were taking some pictures on their couch – I love these expressions :)

And this lovely mama Erin asked, as I was leaving, if I thøught the line below her belly button (a.k.a. linea nigra – which, yes, I had to google in order to figure out the spelling) would show up in the photos. I gave her my usual answer to this question, which is, “Oh, I can edit it out if you don’t like it…” and I loved her response… “Oh, no, I’m hoping you will be able to see it. I think it’s cool. I feel like it looks like a seam.” :)

On the back deck:
0802 by you.

And this one I’ve seen done, I can’t remember where, probably BabyCenter.com or somewhere… and so had Erin. She described it to me, and I knew what she meant. I don’t usually bring props, but she said she didn’t have blocks for her baby yet — come on, no blocks?! poor child is going to be needing those momentarily! :) But I said no problem, I’d bring some of my daughters’ blocks for this shot. But then when I went digging through the toys, I could only find one B block. So I brought a lowercase d, and promised her I’d fix it in Photoshop. Gotta love digital photography!

What a fun shoot! Great to meet you guys. Can’t wait to meet your little one in a few weeks.

37 weeks along and glowing

I met Grace and Tony yesterday (Yes, I’m trying to keep up with my blogging for June! It’s a crazy month, but I’m really going to try to blog as soon as I can after shoots…) and got to spend some time taking pictures of these guys in their home and outside at a nearby park. I’m loving this one:
9661 by you.

They had such fun together :) They said this was Tony’s favorite pose in their wedding pictures, too. It’s good to have a theme, I say.

So many natural, happy moments:

And we had a gorgeous day yesterday for sunny park pictures, too:

See what I mean about the pose? I love Grace’s expression here.
9780 by you.

As we were walking back to their house after the shoot, Tony noticed how pretty Grace looked as he walked behind her, and asked me to take this one. So glad he did! Gorgeous.
9823 by you.

It was so nice to meet you guys – and I can’t wait to meet your little man in a few weeks.

32 weeks along and gorgeous

This beautiful momma and her husband had me over to their house earlier this week, and we got some sweet pictures of her pretty belly:
2919 by you.

It was such a pleasure to spend some time with you guys – I love this contemplative one:
2903 by you.

There are so many more that I love from the session – I can’t wait for you to look at them. And I can’t wait to meet your sweet girl in April!
2825 by you.

Another beautiful belly

I got to meet the lovely V and her husband last week in their fantastic apartment overlooking the Charles River. The huge windows made for really fun photographs:
2316 by you.

At the time of these photos, V was due in three weeks – I love this of Dad feeling the baby:
2252 by you.

This is one of my absolute faves. I love that you get a sense of place with the city behind them, and at first you almost don’t notice V’s sweet belly popping out in the middle.
2274 by you.

I can’t wait to meet your sweet girl when she arrives. Thanks so much for having me!
2299 by you.

Number three, on the way

I love it when families I’ve known for a while let me come back and experience a pregnancy through pictures. I started taking pictures of big five year old A when she was just a year old, and got to do teenie baby pictures of two 1/2 year old R when she was just a little one… and now I got to get excited with the family as they await #3:
1917 by you.

I love this of the three cuties:

And the two big girls:

The whole crew. Wonderful to see you guys again – best of luck with the new arrival, I can’t wait to meet him/her! :)

Any minute now!

M is due with her first baby on Thursday – look at this gorgeous belly! Here she is with her husband at my first Inner Strength Yoga photo day. I’m offering reduced-price maternity mini-photoshoots every couple of months over at Inner Strength Yoga in Watertown. We had a great day of sessions today, and plan to do another one in September.

We just did quickie sessions with each person today – 30 minutes, in and out. But I think we got some great shots! The studio is just such a beautiful place to shoot.

On one of the walls they have this cool forest mural – I love it. Not to mention the sweet couple in front of the mural with the best expressions on their faces ever.

So very pretty.

All your photos will be ready as soon as I can get them to you! I know you’ll have somebody whose photos will take precedence very soon…

Good luck with everything :)

Her third – and a couple more months to go…

S isn’t due until September, but we went ahead and shot some fun yoga posture pictures anyway, since she’s the teacher of the pre-natal yoga class at Inner Strength Yoga in Watertown, and she’s the one who organized this whole yoga photos day. They were such amazing postures!

3479, originally uploaded by Boston Baby Photos.

Do you believe she’s pregnant? I don’t think I could do this for any length of time right now and I’m not even expecting. She balanced forever like this. Incredible.

S is such a wonderfully calm mom of two (almost 3!)… I think it’s the yoga. Isn’t this one amazing?

3493, originally uploaded by Boston Baby Photos.

And last but not least, an equally calm non-yoga one. Thanks for coming up with the yoga-studio photos idea, S :) All the rest of your photos will be ready ASAP. Have a great rest of the summer, and I’ll see you in September for more Inner Strength maternity photos!

A future best friend for Annie

See that belly there? No pressure on my 2 1/2 yr old Annie, but that belly’s housing her future best friend. I’m only sure of this because the baby’s dad is my husband’s best friend Sasha, and you have to be best friends with the friends your parents choose for you, right? ;)

So I’ve got lots of daddy pictures to post today from this fun session last weekend because Marni (the future best friend’s wonderful momma) needs to choose her Father’s Day photos, and time’s getting tight. Here’s one:

Did I mention how gorgeous Marni is?

Whispering to the little one:

We can only hope the new little one gets mom’s fantastic laugh and smile:

Now, for a couple I didn’t know well, I’d say this is the shot to use as a Father’s Day present. It’s sweet, it’s dad talking to the belly…

0872, originally uploaded by Boston Baby Photos.

But anyone who knows Sash knows that he’s not yelling in this picture, but singing. And Sash singing is Sash being himself. So this is the one I love best. I hope you enjoy them, too, guys.

One last pretty momma pic:

And I have to admit I broke my own “no weddings” rule last year and shot Sash and Marni’s wedding. Weren’t they gorgeous and glowing even back then? And when the baby’s born, I guess we won’t force the best friend thing… but you never know… :)

The Public Garden, a bit wet

Dedication is getting up at 4am to get on the road from Philly by 5am to make it to Boston by 11am for a photoshoot. Dedication is saying, let’s go for it – even when the rain is pouring down (this was last Friday – pre-heat wave). And you know what? Dedication just happens to bring about pretty great photos.

I met these guys about a year ago when we did A’s first photoshoot when she was just about a year old. And then they moved to Philly :( But then they planned a visit and we got to do photos again! Can’t wait to meet #2 when they visit again next year.

Isn’t she lovely?

Here I am, giving in to my addiction again (I’ve mentioned it before… I’m addicted to the “throwing the kidlet in the air” shots. I’m looking into counseling options.)

Dipping toes in made feet a leetle bit dirty, but no harm there.

A lesson from mom about wiping hands off can be a game, too.

One of the best moments was when A caught sight of these two mallards and started giving them a little chase. Pretty funny.

You can barely tell that A is actually riding one of the Robert McCloskey Make Way for Ducklings ducks here, because she’s got such a good hold on his beak! I just loved her expression in this one.

All your photos will be ready in the next few days. It was great seeing you guys last Friday and I can’t wait to show you all the fun shots. It was definitely worth the early drive!
