I say this every year, I know, but these guys make me so happy every time I have a shoot with them. They just ooze love out of every pore – their (now 5! year old – can’t believe it, kindergartener) sweet boy is just an absolute inspiration. As Kim (his mama) put it so eloquently on the contest page of my blog last year, as she described a photo from the 2010 shoot where Jack walked holding hands with his parents:
Our family has been through so much in Jack’s four years. I love this picture so much because it inspires me to believe that anything is possible, and makes me proud to be the parent of such a special child. There were times that we were told Jack may not make it through the night or to his next birthday, but we never gave up hope. This picture to me symbolizes how far we’ve come and that we have to remember that life is a journey that you take one step at a time.
Well they’ve taken lots of steps together this year, and Jack and his parents have tons to be proud of. Not the least of which is their huge, amazing love.

Daddy tickles:

Up in the air:

High-fiving mama:

Giving Rocky some kisses:

Loving Mickey Mouse Clubhouse:

And this is my favorite series of two pictures – Jack was obviously really worried about going down the slide, but his mama helped him… she knew he could do it, so she gave him support and helped him get started.

And at the bottom of the slide… a little proud smile peeked out. So perfect.

But this guy loves NOTHING more than the swings.

Maybe partially because his parents are really fun.

But I know it’s so freeing to fly so high up there.

You guys inspire me every time I see you. So happy for you.

Another shoot just moments before Hurricane Irene hit… and these two had such fun together!

Twinkley eyes!

Aren’t they perfect?

Wonderful to see you guys again.

Last Saturday, just hours before Hurricane Irene made her way up the coastline, I met up with this fantastic family at Crane’s Beach in Ipswich. I tell you, if I could have ordered the weather for a beach photoshoot from a menu, I would have chosen exactly this day. It was gorgeous there at 9am!
That, and they weren’t too hard on the eyes…

And there was FUN to be had…

Sometimes I just have to include one when mom looks just drop dead amazing – I love this! Model much?

Handsome devil, and getting so big!

I love this.

And this. I can see this big on a wall somewhere – so sweet.

I met these guys at the house before heading over to their neighborhood beach, and I am just in love with this first picture we got — how perfect??

But then we zipped over to the beach and got some great fun pictures by the water and the trees…

The big guys decided they were going to help little sister S get going on her walking.

They coached and coached as she pushed up, up, up…

And wahoo – she got to a standing position! Walking… well, not in the grass today. But standing like a champ! And making her big sister and brother very proud :)

And don’t forget herself – making herself very proud too.

It was wonderful running around with you guys as always.

Thanks for the fun morning!

My favorite:

With this one in a close second…

Handsome dude:

I love the way mom and dad are looking at each other here:

Don’t kill me for posting this one, but I can’t stop laughing at it… “Honey, you have something on your nose…”

Really fun to see you guys again!

I have an ABSURD number of blog photos to show you from this mini-shoot. Well, it all would have been normal, I would have 6-8 photos to show you if this crazy fun little dude hadn’t jumped in the fountain. And if his crazy fun parents hadn’t LET him. And if he hadn’t gotten all drippy wet. And then gone to hug his parents, so they got all wet. It was just plain great.

(Oh, and this one cracks me up because I’m normally so picky about making sure you can see everyone’s faces in pictures like this, and it’s just so blatantly the opposite. Makes me smile.)

Hehe. And nothing beats a little blunder picture – when J’s hand slipped out of mama’s! No injury, I promise, though.

See why I had to post all these? Forgive me – I had to do it. Great to see you guys!

I was excited to hear that these guys had never had professional photos taken before – it’s so much fun to take someone’s first family photos. Aren’t these guys gorgeous?

Those eyes…

Tickles and hugs -

And they lived just steps from the Boston Public Garden, so we got to zip outside to get some fun family photos there:

Big handsome brother B insisted on this photo – he thought it was a great shot. ;) Agreed.

And in case you thought these guys didn’t look alike – look at these matching expressions!

It was great to meet you guys!

Just kidding – not really a chicken fight. But so cute anyway :)

Mama and her handsome little man:

Dad tossing his sweet girl in the air. Don’t you love the way the light frames her here?

And then a girlie shot:

And one with the men of the house.

So excited to get to know you guys next year at ANS – thanks for a great shoot. And that’s all folks! The last of the spring charity 20 minute mini-sessions in the Boston Public Garden. 26 fantastic families, 26 awesome photoshoots. Hoping to slip one of these mini-session days into my September calendar this fall. Shoot me an email and I’ll add you to my monthly newsletter to be notified when the date is announced.

So if you’ve visited my blog before you know I have to have a really good reason to love a color photo. I am just a black & white fan… pretty much all the time. Kids, babies, black & white, it’s just my thing. So when these guys asked to sit in front of the purple (? don’t know what kind of?) flowers, I looked at them for their puffed shapes and how they’d make a nice backdrop with their tall stems… somehow forgetting to notice their gorgeous PURPLEness. Top that with a couple of redheads, five incredible outfits with wonderful colors, and these five amazingly well behaved sweet kiddos, and here I am, loving a color photo. Of course, I should mention that since last fall I’ve started showing my clients all the great shots from the session in both black & white and color after their shoot. People seem to dig having the option, and sometimes we end up with shots like this.

So in my note above it was only a passing mention, but when I said “well-behaved” – you don’t quite get what I mean, I don’t think. I’m serious. Like everybody listened, sat together… it was amazing. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… the more children you add to the family, I swear the more well behaved they are. So I’m off to go get me some triplets to round out my two to a five. Actually… maybe I don’t have the energy for that, and I’ll have to leave this to amazing families like this one. But suffice it to say, I loved getting to know these guys.
Bubble fun:

Even more bubble fun:

Come get baby R!

Pigpile!

Great to meet you guys, thanks for being my penultimate Ashmont Nursery School fundraiser mini-session. You were the 25th family who took advantage of the 20 minute charity mini-shoots this spring over two days in the Public Garden. Very excited that I’m almost done editing them :) One more blog post to go!

This is another pair of girlies I’ve been taking pictures of since they were teenie. Since before B was born – back when M was just a tiny bubble-blowing cutie…
And now here they are, girls having fun together. Something about B’s arm here is so perfect. Love.

And a classic by the tree:

All the expressions here are so great:

I like the sweetness of this sister moment:

Wonderful to see you guys again, I loved it.

Please don’t kill me for using this as my number one, super-amazing favorite picture from your whole session… I just adore adore adore it. It’s the milisecond before you guys all realized why I was laughing really hard at biggest brother K. So you’re all laughing at me laughing, except K, who’s being a mischievous devil and laughing because he knows why I’m laughing at him. Awesome. The frames just after this one are funny too, after I said – “Take your finger out of your nose!” :)

Three handsome boys. I’ve been taking pictures of these guys since middle brother N was a newborn little teenie tiny baby, and it pains me to see how big he, and all of them, are getting. I love it, but it kind of blows my mind every time.

And little sister E wandered around throughout the shoot – hilarious to try to grab her in the same frame with the boys:

Mama and her pile of boys:

Reacting to daddy’s funny tickles:

And as they headed off, after the shoot, they really did grab hands. Look at baby E looking up at N here – aDORable.

Just after my lunch on 5/23, I met these guys by the water in the Public Garden and tickling ensued…

Jumping, too.

More smiles…

Oh, and big sister wet willies… (don’t you love the dirty bum on X here?)

And we have all those classic smiley ones too, but I prefer ones like this :)

And this sweet pensive one. Wonderful to see you guys again after all these years!

These crazies were my 6th mini-shoot in the Boston Public Garden on the 23rd, and they had a blast:

Look at handsome big brother J – getting so grown up! Do you believe the eyelashes?

And now little brother A has become big brother A with the addition of his new baby sister. He’s growing up too!

They’re both so loving with J:

Flying sister!

Giggles with Dad:

Loved seeing ALL you guys!

These guys live right behind me, so I was so excited when they booked a session on my Public Garden mini-shoot day. I’ve wanted to take their picture forever – they always have such a good time together.
Now this picture is one of the best moments – I adore it. The parents pose cutely in the front, while the sisters in back think we’re not paying attention to them… and littlest brother W crouches over the edge of the water, investigating wildlife.

I like the hugeness of the weeping willow here –

And a pile of smiles:

Sweetness.

And a classic one -

I love this one – I always say this, but this one deserves to be printed huge and hung in the front hall or somewhere… you can’t see faces here on the blog, but trust me when I tell you everyone’s having a great time here:

Aaaand break! You guys were super fun, it was awesome to get a chance to take your pictures.

I’ve been taking pictures of these guys since big brother G was only six months old, so it was fun to meet them in a new spot (the Boston Public Garden on 4/11 for my all-day charity mini-shoot day). Look at these perfect grins:

Dimpled, smiling boy:

Giggly sweet girl:

And last of all, a non-traditional shot of the two kiddos as they look at me quizzically – don’t they both seem so wise here? Wonderful as always to see you guys! Thanks for coming out.
