Sometimes it’s grandmothers who call me to book photoshoots, and often times those shoots happen around the holidays, when their families are together. It’s always mayhem, and I can almost guarantee someone will cry… but that’s what it’s all about, right? Capturing the insanity? Because why have two handsome sons if you can’t document a piece of the crazy lives they’re living with their 7, 4, 4 and 2 yr old kiddos?
So I’ll get you situated with the big group shot first. Here’s our handsome crew.

And one of all the grandkids with their grandparents:
And now, so you don’t get confused, I’ll go big brother’s family first:

And then I’ll do little brother’s family next:

And I have to include this “outtake” one — it cracks me up — with bow off kilter and tongue out :)

All thanks to these two. Celebrating a big anniversary this year! Congrats, guys.

P.S. These kind of shoots are what I call “a bunch of families together” in my pricing calculator, in case you’re curious. They can run a bit longer than my usual 45 minutes-1 hour. I think I stayed with these guys for about 90 minutes. But it’s nice because each individual family in the group ends up with photos for holiday cards, etc.
Over Thanksgiving weekend, this sweet 4 1/2 month old guy had a huge crowd around – lucky guy. But first he got to get some pictures with just his mom and dad:

With mom and dad:
And with his grandparents:

And the whole team:

Wonderful to see you guys! It’s exhausting being the star of the show.

Instead of coming for this guy’s actual Christening, we met the day before with all his extended family for some photos.
But before I get into the formal shots, I just love this one. This is big boy S, in one of his favorite positions, upside-down over his dad’s shoulders. I had to shoot from way down low to get this awesome expression, but I love it so much.

I’ll go back a bit – I first got to meet this guy upstairs after his nap, while the extended family came together downstairs.

One set of grandparents was there…

And the other set, too. What a lucky guy :)

We even had a bit of time with his cousins:

Here’s the whole crew from one side:

And then the crew from the other side, too:

Rose deliciousness (look at those tootsies):

Wonderful to meet you guys!

The last time I saw this big girl Z she didn’t have hair, and now she has a gorgeous curly top of rings:

These guys all met me in the Boston Public Garden for my mini-shoot day. They were my 11th shoot of the day, and their priority for their 20 minute session was that they wanted a great family shot with all seven adults and one sweet one year old:

But I couldn’t just do that… had to get a few others. You know me. Here’s Z and grandma playing at the water fountain:

A big girl tickle with mom and dad:

And showing off her mad walking skills! So fun to see you guys, thanks for coming out and for supporting the Ashmont Nursery School charity day!

Look at all these handsome guys! I met up with this wonderful family for the 2nd year in a row at a house they were renting on Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester, and this year they had tons of extended family visiting. Three generations of men, first:

It’s so much fun documenting big families like this. It’s not my normal thing, but I like it :)

Wheeeeeee

i love this one – it’s such a sweet moment:

These guys were having such fun together…

And giggling was definitely the order of the day.

And their cousins needed some jumping shots too:

And back to the handsomest boys on Wingaersheek. Do you believe these smiles?

A couple of weeks ago, three cousins, all with birthdays a few weeks from each other, turned one. I’ve said it before, but I find that birthday parties are best photographed in color. So although I usually love b&w best… here are some color party shots. The families enjoyed some delicious food:

And they were lucky enough to kick off their 2nd year of life with some of the most gorgeous cupcakes I’ve ever seen! (And I just found out their mom is a pro – here’s a link to her cupcake company.)

And then the three birthday cuties enjoyed their cupcakes:

There was the first lovely 1 year old L:

With her twin older sister and brother:

And the second beautiful birthday girl, A:

And the third handsome birthday boy, J:

And everybody enjoyed the bounce house. Thanks for having me, guys. All your photos are almost finished!

I’ve been taking pictures of these guys for a couple of years now, and I was honored to be asked to take photos at their youngest daughter’s Baby Naming on the Cape last weekend. As I’ve mentioned before, I find that childrens’ parties just cry out for color photos – hence the color shots you see here. Little B was an absolute dream for the whole party:

Her big brother J tried out the waterslide before the rest of the revelers arrived:

Fun inside the bounce house:

B with her grandma during the ceremony:

Delicious eats:

And this is one of my favorite shots of the day. Two cuties hiding up in the waterslide having a private giggle:

It’s really impossible not to get fantastic pictures at a really fun party like this!

And one more shot with the gorgeous 13 month old girl of the day. Thanks again for having me. Your photos are just about ready!

I’ll send you an email when they’re all ready – very soon!
Don’t they make a handsome group?
Nevermind. :)
I spent the late morning yesterday with these guys – two brothers and a sister with their respective families. One of the brothers was visiting with his family from India, so they were excited to grab some cousin pictures while he was in town. If you’ve visited my blog or website before, you probably know that I sometimes think it’s a little boring to have everyone looking at the camera at the same time. Luckily, the kids are usually on my side and help me out by distracting their parents (and aunts and uncles). Here’s my favorite group shot:
So, as you might be able to guess, I spent Sunday morning at a fantastic 1st birthday party – everyone had tons of fun. I’ve been taking pictures of this family for years now, and I was honored to have been asked to join them at this rockin’ celebration.
There are tons of photos I still need to go through from the party, so it’ll be late next week before I finish them all up for you, but I’ll let you know as soon as they’re ready.
Thanks so much for including me, I loved being part of your celebration, and can’t wait to show you all the pictures!
