I’ve bumped these guys to the top of my queue because Dad is about to go out of town and he needs to bring some pictures of his little guy and his pretty lady with him when he leaves. So they were actually my 2nd shoot of the day last Sunday when I had a day of 13 twenty minute mini-shoots, there was still a cool breeze in the air.
Big boy M had fun on the ducks first…
BTW, side note – I was wondering this as I watched the ducks statues over the course of the day… do you think they’re the most photographed landmark in Boston? I think they very well might be. There are very few minutes of daylight when they’re not being photographed with someone sitting on top of them… (from adult men in their suits to cutie toddlers like little M). Can anyone think of a local landmark that gets more shutter clicks each day?
Sorry, back to business…

These cute teeth kill me:

Flying…

Handsome and beauty, together:

Staring out over the water… Isn’t the tush perfect?

A minute at the end, a sweet mama cuddle.

Poke!

I hadn’t seen this little beauty since she was just a teenie, tiny, newborn. It’s been a year, and she is such an adorable little one year old now! Let’s start with this one, so you can see the rolls:

I love the edge of a smile you can see here on baby A as she goes nose to nose with her mama:

And here’s a real closeup on the eyelashes – because I was afraid you wouldn’t believe me if I told you about them without showing them to you…

Awesome hair, eh?

She looks a little like she’s in jail here… but these wrist rolls and fat little fingers kill me:

And then I had to show you the pout. Don’t you just love it? The pretty eyes and the pout here…

I love her attitude and rolls here:

Mouthful of yogurt :)

A combo of the pout and the mouthful -

And last of all, a toss in the air from dad – with hair blowing in the breeze!

I got to spend L’s first birthday with her last week – and she was perfect! Tucker thinks she’s delicious, too. (These guys were the winning bidders for this session at the Ashmont Nursery School auction in March – so glad we got to do our session on L’s big day!)

Isn’t she incredibly gorgeous? Eyes to die for, just like her big brother.

Sharing secrets.

Swinging together:

See what I mean about her brother’s eyes? Not to mention the dimples…

This grandma moment makes me happy.

So does this one.

And I think her birthday cake made L happy, too :) DeLISH.

Thanks for the fun morning, guys. Great to see you!

So this was my third visit to see this handsome devil – we did three month pictures, six month pictures, and now nine month… it’s so wonderful to see the changes when I get a chance to document little guys in their first year. This time K is standing, crawling… and isn’t it cool as a baby goes from a darker room into a lighter one? Look at these bright white tiles and K’s perfect big boy crawl…

And the best expression, with his big beautiful eyes:

Look how proud he looks of his standing skills. Showing off his chubby little toes, too :)

A cool grin:

Walking with mom and dad:

I love how these guys are mirroring each other:

A hug from dad, and perfect wrist rolls – wonderful to see you guys!

I’ve known this guy’s momma for almost nineteen years! We must have been babies when we met… because aren’t I only about 19 years old? Oy.
As I was looking through these photos we got at T’s session, I started to feel like they’re just such classic moments for a six month old’s photoshoot. The hand reaching…

The awesome facial expressions, showing off his pushing up skills:

Grabbing the toes, of course:

Such a perfect “baby” moment:

Beautiful toesies:

And of course taking a moment to fuss – but so beautifully! I always feel awful shooting the crying, but it’s just hard not to when they look so perfect doing it.

And a last handsome boy shot. Had such a great time seeing you!

I had to work hard to make sure that every picture of this little guy wasn’t smiling, because he’s just such a happy guy. I think this is my favorite shot, though:

Look at these killer eyelashes, too:

And using his walker, a total pro:

Relaxing with the whole gang:

High-five for mom:

Showing off the crawling skills. I feel like his right hand looks like he’s drumming his fingers here, waiting for something important…

This big boy just turned ONE, so we had to take a picture in front of the mural dad painted:

Actually, this next picture is competing to be my favorite one… I’m going back and forth.

This one cracks me up – belly!

So much fun to spend time with you guys.

This giggling eight month old guy was tons of fun in his photoshoot last weekend. And now his parents have been super patient waiting for me to finish editing their pictures. Do you believe this one with his pretty momma, as they giggle at each other?

He has a Fred Astaire vibe going on in this shot, don’t you think? Looks like his feet are ready to dance, toe tapping and all.

Too bad they’re not very good looking, eh? ;)

Big boy flying:

I think I interrupted a really good chew here.

Laughing at mom:

Taking a moment with his best buddy. Don’t they look like they’re having a really in-depth conversation?

Twinkling eyes:

Look at this fabulous crawling bum. I love mom’s smile here:

And it’s always nice to take a walk with the ‘rents. What fun to hang out and take pictures of you guys – thanks for having me!

So today marks the day my own baby girl’s been outside in the world longer than she was inside my belly. I know they say it goes faster on the 2nd child, but SERIOUSly, they aren’t kidding. Sadie’s first year is flying by – it feels like a blink since she was born. She got her first tooth last month, and is talkative and hilarious now. She’s just mastered sitting up and recently started rolling to get gerself places (her sister was crawling at 5 months old, Sadie’s taking her time with it). She loves her three soft mushy meals a day, and really loves nothing better than her big sister. Bathtime is unquestionably her favorite time of day, her whole body tenses and she starts jumping as we finish up dinner and head to the bathroom. She is a delight, each and every day. Except when she decides it’s party time between 1-4am – which she did for the first time the other night… I think tooth #2 is on its way.
Knuckle dimples!!

Love this.

This is her giggling uproariously face:

Zzzzrrrrrrbbbbbrrrrrttttt:

My little turtle:

:)

Loving the bath:

Enjoying peas:

Cracking up:

My blue eyed girl. Happy 9 mo bday, sweetheart.

In case you’re not a Robert McCloskey fan (the author of the classic “Make Way For Ducklings” book), those are (I think) the names of the ducklings. I did it from memory, because I’m too lazy to walk the seven steps to my daughter’s bookcase and confirm it. But I think it’s something like that.
I met these guys in the Boston Public Garden last weekend for their pictures – they’d gotten a gift certificate for a shoot a while back, and they’d been patiently waiting on my waiting list for weeks and weeks. Finally they nabbed an open spot, and we lucked out with the weather.
I had to post this picture first, even though we took it at the end of the session. Mom mentioned as we were packing up to leave that they had one of those classic Make Way for Ducklings frames, and wouldn’t it be so great to get a picture of their Jack sitting on top of this duckling Jack? Big boy Jack wasn’t so sure about that plan, but I actually prefer this one anyway, with him checking things out in the background with his dad :)

And this is my #1, hands-down, no question favorite from the session. Best smiles ever. Love how his hair matches his mom’s hair.

Isn’t he a handsome dude?

Oh yeah. Forgot this one. Love this one too.

Look at those CHEEKS!

Swing!

This one is perfect because all Jack wanted to do during the shoot was walk around. He’d just gotten his feet under him, and he was loving wandering all over the gardens. And what better to walk to than a ball from mom?

The weeping willows make such a great background here. Leaf in hand – what’s more fall-like?

Wonderful to get a chance to meet you, I’m glad we got you in there!

One more. Love this pout!

I love the background here of the brownstones and the signature South End street lamps… not to mention the cool 9am shadows, showing how tiny B is compared to her parents as they lift her up and swing her:

Isn’t she perfect in her mary jane’s?

We went to the playground to play and had so many neat opportunities for sweet photos… B’s amazing curls and long eyelashes were gorgeous!

I love this frustrated face. She’s riding on a riding toy at the playgrond here, and giving her mom or dad a face to say – not so sure about this…

But within moments she was bouncing on it like crazy, loving every minute:

Then there was this teenie little see-saw that B was enjoying with her pretty mama. After her mom had a turn, B motioned me over, asking me to bounce on it with her. What a quad workout!

And even though I was super close to her (sitting across from her on the see-saw), her face was so joyful I had to snap a quick photo. It’s a little distorted because I was so close to her, but I kind of love that about it – it makes her cheeks even more delicious!

Fun to spend a sunny fall morning with you guys – I’m glad we finally got the weather to cooperate!

This was my third visit with Ms. C – we first met when she was just a little newborn, and then I got to come back and see her when she was a beautiful chubby six month old. Now she’s a big girl turning one, and she was hilarious. I loved getting a chance to see her again!
Her mama had to answer a phone call during the shoot, and while she was gone, Ms. C got into a bit of mischief. First she discovered the sunglasses… and like a good girl, made the attempt to give them back to mama…

When she realized she’d get a bit of time to play with them, she was thrilled. Look at her, devising her plan for the glasses…

And here she gives the grownup on-the-head look a try. Dahling, they’re perfect on you. Don’t change a thing ;)

She continues to rock the fabulous eyelashes, and smile her gorgeous smile:

Even taking a moment or to with calm consideration of “hmmm… who is this person, and why is she taking my picture?”

Then we went upstairs to her room, and I love the girlie accents throughout this shot. The tutu on the door, the b&w’s framed from previous shoots (love it). Up here she introduced me to her beloved BunBun.

Showed me the proper way to give him kisses:

And believe it or not, took steps through the room! She’d only just started doing this last week when I was there, so she was still doing what her mom called her “Frankenstein” walk – it’s such a perfect description of it…

Had to capture those wrist rolls – one of my favorite things in the world.

And this expression, last but not least, cracks me up. Her family calls this her angry face. I just think it’s adorable. “Are you looking at my tush?”

When I got to these boys’ Charlestown home last weekend, their mom told me she’d hung a white sheet in a room upstairs and wanted to start with some simple, studio-style shots. The light in the room she’d chosen was lovely, as were her gorgeous boys:

We got plenty of giggles from all three:

And only one near-strangulation shot ;)

Then we went out to their backyard, and Dad set up this shot while mom was getting something inside… aren’t you impressed? I bet mom will be :) Three handsome dudes:

And the big boys impressed me with with their Razor scooter speed:

Then we went to a nearby park to hang out and play, and mom brought some theatrical snow to toss in the air… so fun! The boys thought it was hilarious :)

Until some landed in those big smiling mouths. Oops. Leetle spit there…

But even so, we all really couldn’t stop laughing. Such a fun idea.

Look at these grins:

And the smallest little guy too:

So when it was time to pack up and go, little guy C was ready to wave and head out :) We had a really fun shoot as always! Great to see you guys.

This big handsome boy loved showing me his skills with a crayon this past weekend:

And giving his dog some love. I adore this pup’s expression here. It’s so patient, but yet so knowing… As if he’s saying, “Really, guys? Really?” Reminds me of a photo I took a few years back of my little girl and our cat.

He took a bit of time playing stickers with his momma:

And then we went for a walk. I love the light through the trees here:

Played a bit of t-ball:

Doesn’t mom look gorgeous here?

Big boy J was so obliging to turn and show me his nice smile while he ran :)

Swinging:

Giving mom some love:
It was really great to meet you guys!

I’m editing some pictures right now that reminded me of this photo. I took it in July 2007 of my older daughter, Annie, when she was nearly 2 years old with our very patient kitty, Pocheen.
This handsome guy was thrilled to head off into his grandparents’ back yard with me and show me around as soon as I walked in the door. It was so sweet, he was so independent right away! His parents stayed inside the kitchen door for a while, so this adorable guy and I could spend some time playing trains and taking eyelash pictures (can you guess which of us was doing which thing?)

But when they came outside to play, his parents and he had a great time playing together:
 And check out that smile!

“My parents are SO funny.” :)

Getting a spin on Mom’s head:
And doing another kind of fun spinning:

And of course we had to get a few inside on the couch pictures – doesn’t he look handsome in his dress-up sweater? So great to meet you guys!
