A picture is worth a thousand words. All these pictures show – joy – love – and who is in charge. They are beautiful. Big brother H I got to meet when he was a mere 12 hours old, but this time I had to wait a few days to meet new sister L – my vacation schedule got in the way :( But doing it after these guys got home from the hospital was even better – light is prettier at home, and we got so many sweet pictures. And I’m happy to welcome them to the elite club I like to call “two under two”. They join some other fabulous families – and even though big H is turning 2 in just a couple of weeks, I think it’s exciting to mention that they’re part of this cool crew.
Both sets of grandparents in the same place at the same time? Must be documented. Love love love you all. Truly my extended family, and I was honored to document the beginning of your family-of-fourness.
Welcome, darling, darling girl. We love you, and my girls can’t wait to make mischief with you and your big wonderful brother. And how, oh how, did I walk out of the house without a new baby snuggle? That’s the best part of my friends having babies – I usually remember to put down the camera and get some baby time – but I think the heat of the day and the excitement of meeting this sweet lady got the better of me and I stayed in standard work mode and totally forgot to get my snuggle. Mazal Tov to all of you – what a blessing to bring more Chanoffs into the world! Judy Sacks I’m taking a quick break from my Public Garden shoot editing to show you some shots I took this morning of little teenie 6 day old baby N. He’s the little brother of a friend of my Annie’s from school, and his big sister is exactly one year younger than Annie, and now he’s exactly one year younger than my Sadie! It’s so fun to see this same age difference play out again, and I have to admit it’s incredible to have it be a year later for me, and to see this sweet big sistering again. His big sister F is so loving and sweet with him. Doesn’t he look comfortable in her lap, snoozing away?
Yup, all ten toes.

Thank you Jess…..we loved having you and the pictures are beautiful…they catch Fiona’s spirit and Nolan’s newness to the world. J Just about two weeks ago, I got to visit this little sweet boy (he was just 9 days old when we shot the photos). He was the most content, calm, snoozy little guy while I was there, it got to be almost comical. When parents ask me “How long should we allow for the photoshoot?”, my answer is always “Well, the kids will probably be done with me after about 45 minutes. Sometimes we go a bit longer, so it’s good to plan on an hour, but 45 minutes is usually just about right. Unless you have a newborn who naps through the photos, in which case we can go longer, an hour and a half, sometimes two hours…” Well, this guy took sleepyness to a new level. He’d had a good warm tub and a nice bottle before I got there, so he was cozy and ready to relax. His parents cuddled and smushed and loved him a ton through the two hours I was there, and we had just one little eye peek at about the 118 minute mark ;) But you know what? It didn’t even matter. I love the photos we got – I love these parents and their adoration for their boy. The whole house was just overflowing with this relaxed, loving feeling. It was a pleasure to spend time there.

Awesome pictures! A beautiful relaxed baby, happy and devoted parents, enveloped in a home filled with love. What a wonderful beginnng! Thanks for sharing. My photographic style often has me really close up to some pretty beautiful little people. I love being close, capturing those moments as the sneeze happens, as the yawn crests… But once in a while I see something happening and I have to step way back. And sometimes that works really well.
This is that same shot close up, in my standard style. Mama and her four week old sweet S. Can’t tell which of these two photos I like better. Two beautiful ladies in both :)
And S’s mama wasn’t sure about the tutu, but I loved it – and luckily, so did S!

Beautiful, Jess. I love the long view and also love how the mom is lovingly holding the baby’s head. Here are a bunch more pictures of the gorgeous Lady Kay – dimples and smiles and all (8 days old and a little smile already?):

The photos of Jay, Sara, Nat and Kay are awesome! Thank you Jess,you make a grandmother’s heart flutter. Brrr! It’s cold outside. What better way to show how cozy it is to be a little one month old cutie in January than to take a snooze in a hat and a cozy blanket? This is beautiful baby S, and I met her last month for her newborn pictures with her family, and this past weekend I got to go back and have a session just with her.
And I think this is my favorite sleeping picture. It’s a little more non-traditional, as sleepy baby pictures go, but I love how she’s hiding her face under her dimpled little hand.

 no comments I walked in the door of this family’s house last weekend and big brother S was begging his dad, asking if he could hold his brother. Almost before I could drop to my knees, toss the camera bag to the side of the room, lift the camera to my eye, these guys were just sitting together, being adorable. The pout picture is fantastic. It appears to be the same face the Charlie's dad makes when there is no fried food on the menu. I love maternity sessions that I get to do just before a baby’s born, and then come back mere weeks later to meet a new perfect bundle! This gorgeous boy was born just two weeks before I met him last week, and although when I was visiting he hadn’t been sleeping much for his parents, I think he must have just been busy being a sweet perfect boy at all hours for them ;) Love the tiny tiny legs: Sweet cuddle: With his doting dad: Holding his mom’s thumb: Looking longingly into mama’s eyes: So you’d never know in this 2nd shot that it was pouring rain out, would you? These guys were such good sports to plop right now on the stairs to recreate their maternity shot from a few weeks before… and then toss me their umbrella at the last second. You have such an eye for perspective! I love it! Aren’t four year old big bro K and 2 year old big sis F doing a great job holding teenie little E? and then, of course, a yawn and a zerbert: These guys were so wonderfully active during the shoot (and all the time, I’m sure). I love that you can almost hear them both talking in this one, while baby E snoozes away. The benefits of being #3 – you can sleep through anything! Giggles and a great smile: Both big girl F and big boy K have those deep, rich, dark brown eyes I just love: Sweet baby E was only 3 weeks old: This one looks like one of those Boston Globe Magazine photos that tells a story, doesn’t it? I love the perspective, and K peering out the window, hoping to be released soon :) See what I mean about those big beautiful brown eyes? And of course when you have the whole family at the beach house, you kind of need to do a few group shots, especially when one part of the family is moving to Beijing momentarily! At only 18 months old, she’s only had a couple of weeks to get used to her new brother S, and she was really wonderful with him: First of all, though, isn’t he a handsome devil? I also love the quilt in this shot – cool leaf pattern! And pretty girl T: I feel like this is the picture I wish I had of myself just after my 2nd was born. Shanna (mom) looks so sweetly welcoming as big sister crawls across the bed toward her baby brother. I always feel like I’m telling my older daughter to be careful of her sister. I want Shanna’s expression to be what my girls remember of me instead! Shhh, baby brother. I’m trying to watch Handy Manny. Scout’s honor, I haven’t retouched any of these pictures. These pictures are gorgeous! Love them all! This fantastic couple finally gave birth to a bouncing baby boy in early July (we had to reschedule our newborn shoot… he hadn’t arrived in time for our first appointment!). But they waited patiently for his arrival, and then I went on my month of maternity leave in July and they were so nice about waiting for me to return for their newborn shoot. Thanks for accommodating my schedule, guys. Now, this past Sunday when we had our shoot, he’s almost 4 weeks old and just gorgeous! Can’t believe how many smiles we captured! Here he is with his beautiful momma: Love this :) And cooing his sweet coo… Such a strong neck! Perfect feeties. I think he looks like his dad in this one.
