Irving Berlin said it, my mom and her three sisters joke about it… and these four reminded me of that quote so much. They were quick to giggle and enjoy each other – such a pleasure to be around.

The progression from this shot…

To this one cracks me up so much :)

I should take you down the line. #1:

Wonderful to meet you guys, thanks for having me out!

I’m back! After about six weeks of a blogging hiatus (so sorry to those 26 families from late November and December – I just couldn’t blog during that crazy season), the rush is over, and the calm, lovely January-March shoots begin. This is the quiet season for people like me. It’s too cold to take those tiny babies outside, and every year I have this nice quiet wintertime… one or two shoots a week to keep me busy, but not too many. I get lots of time to be a mom this time of year – and I have to admit I adore it.
But when I do shoot, it’s creatively so much fun! Everybody’s relaxed, and we get to do things like explore cute new belly buttons…

And chew on noses :)

Three handsome boys! The eldest:

The middle:

And the babe:

Wonderful to meet you guys. Happy New Year!

I don’t usually start a blog post with a family shot, but this one says so much about this super fun family, I love it.

Best expression ever – and love littlest brother A in the background, also pointing his airplane to the sky…

Zooooooooom!

Hop on the scooters, head to the hill!

What a crew :)

You guys were a treat as always – thanks for having me back!

This is one family who knows how to have fun together:

And when baby M had a sad time, all three of the boys were so concerned with making her feel better…

Squeeeeze!

And I had to include this one of sweet sister K – lovely.

Patient, patient wonderful mom and dad of these two cuties, I’m so sorry it’s been 2 1/2 WEEKS since we had our session, you are so nice to wait so long for your pictures. But oh – so worth waiting for! Look at these adorable munchkins with their favorite stuffed animals at grandma and grandpa’s house:

Lovely, lovely girl.

Love the toes in the air and J’s face here:

Where’s my brother?

With their fun fabulous mama:

Static!

And see what I mean about fun mama?

Handsome boy :)

And no shoot is complete without a bit of melting down…

You guys are awesome. So fun to see you again this year.

It’s been seven years and nine shoots. I can’t express how much these guys mean to me – I LOVE taking their pictures and will move heaven and earth to get to see them for our annual shoot each year. I’m going to stick to my new plan of less verbose blog posts and let the photos speak for themselves…

OK, just have to tell you that Buzz and Woody have been part of almost every shoot. Great to see them again too!

Need a shot of each of the boys with Dad :)

And adding in three beautiful cousins only adds to the fun :)

And last but never least, my favorite shot – three boys with their beautiful mama.

These guys LOVE their baby cousin:

Do other families use that expression? Hot-sy tot-sy? To describe something really hot? OK… well, that was the day a couple of weeks ago when we shot these photos in the Boston Public Garden – it was a zillion degress out. But you’d never know it by looking at these cuties – they had such a great time together.

Twinkley-eyed boy!

Middle sister, sweet and lovely:

And I love this of oldest sister E – a little bit of mischief…

A pile of all three:

So fun to see you guys again, thanks for driving down to meet me!

And I love this chasing one – needs to be printed big and hung on a wall somewhere :)

So if you’ve visited my blog before you know I have to have a really good reason to love a color photo. I am just a black & white fan… pretty much all the time. Kids, babies, black & white, it’s just my thing. So when these guys asked to sit in front of the purple (? don’t know what kind of?) flowers, I looked at them for their puffed shapes and how they’d make a nice backdrop with their tall stems… somehow forgetting to notice their gorgeous PURPLEness. Top that with a couple of redheads, five incredible outfits with wonderful colors, and these five amazingly well behaved sweet kiddos, and here I am, loving a color photo. Of course, I should mention that since last fall I’ve started showing my clients all the great shots from the session in both black & white and color after their shoot. People seem to dig having the option, and sometimes we end up with shots like this.

So in my note above it was only a passing mention, but when I said “well-behaved” – you don’t quite get what I mean, I don’t think. I’m serious. Like everybody listened, sat together… it was amazing. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… the more children you add to the family, I swear the more well behaved they are. So I’m off to go get me some triplets to round out my two to a five. Actually… maybe I don’t have the energy for that, and I’ll have to leave this to amazing families like this one. But suffice it to say, I loved getting to know these guys.
Bubble fun:

Even more bubble fun:

Come get baby R!

Pigpile!

Great to meet you guys, thanks for being my penultimate Ashmont Nursery School fundraiser mini-session. You were the 25th family who took advantage of the 20 minute charity mini-shoots this spring over two days in the Public Garden. Very excited that I’m almost done editing them :) One more blog post to go!

Please don’t kill me for using this as my number one, super-amazing favorite picture from your whole session… I just adore adore adore it. It’s the milisecond before you guys all realized why I was laughing really hard at biggest brother K. So you’re all laughing at me laughing, except K, who’s being a mischievous devil and laughing because he knows why I’m laughing at him. Awesome. The frames just after this one are funny too, after I said – “Take your finger out of your nose!” :)

Three handsome boys. I’ve been taking pictures of these guys since middle brother N was a newborn little teenie tiny baby, and it pains me to see how big he, and all of them, are getting. I love it, but it kind of blows my mind every time.

And little sister E wandered around throughout the shoot – hilarious to try to grab her in the same frame with the boys:

Mama and her pile of boys:

Reacting to daddy’s funny tickles:

And as they headed off, after the shoot, they really did grab hands. Look at baby E looking up at N here – aDORable.

Last year we did photos in the Public Garden with these three cuties, because they live a bit outside of my normal travel area, and I love meeting families here (as you might be able to guess by the zillions of shoots I’m posting these days). And now here they are, a year later, cute and fun as can be. I love how relaxed and happy they look here:

Running around like crazy:

And baby L is becoming a big girl – with the best toothy grin here as she cuddles her blankie:

Big girl E as model-beautiful as ever:

And stylish Mr. S giving a great expression:

Pardon the blog title… can you tell I’ve been watching the finale of Lost as I edit these photos? I’ve got Party of Five on the brain (Lost’s Jack was Charlie on Pof5 back in the day). But that’s neither here nor there.
I am so in love with these four kiddos from last weekend. The energy in the group was palpable – it really did feel like a party as we ran around their yard and got these crazy pictures.

Um, best little sister shot EVER? This is one of those that should be printed in some enormous size somewhere. Hilarious.

The kids were right. I reluctantly poked my head through the trampoline’s mesh, feeling like the angle I had would be tough to work with… but they insisted, and I love that they were totally right. Adorable jumping shots in there. Such fun. Love baby L’s chubby little legs high in the air.

The foursome, looking almost posed :)

Wooohooo!

Funny faces – (complete with adoring little L staring up at her big sister S)

Ahhhh!

Aaaaaaand break! Great shoot, I loved it. Thanks so much for having me :)

We were supposed to be taking pictures of just the boys, but I couldn’t help getting a few with their mom in them too. I love this one:

Aren’t they handsome dudes?

The big brother hug – just a leeeetle too tight…

And the toe tickle…

Check out the adoration in little J’s eyes as he watches big J here:

And here’s another momma one. Just couldn’t resist.

Adoration again.

Sticking out that cute little tongue.

I got to come back and see these two sweet boys last weekend, and since I last saw them they’d welcomed a beautiful sister. Look at the boys cooperating here, while baby A gives her big brother a poke.

Doesn’t she have a gorgeous grin?

And mom gave them a little puppet show, which was a hit for all three:

It was great to see you guys again!
