We did little D’s pictures on Wednesday morning, when he was just six days old. His two big brothers were off at school, so we got to spend some quiet time getting just D and Mama pictures. Wonderfully sweet.
I’ll tease you a bit, before I introduce you…

And here we have Mr. D:

He even had a smile or two for us…

As well as some pretty fantastic scowls:

I love how different he is in each picture…

More smiles for his mama:

Aaaand then the yawns came. Try not to yawn yourself, looking at this. :)
Wonderful to meet you, little D!

Met up at an apple orchard with these two beauties – and although color versions of these late-in-the-day shots are sweet, I’m loving their b&w counterparts…

Mama pulled her girl…

And then J got to do some work pulling…

But for some reason this one screams color to me.
Adored spending the afternoon with you guys, thank you! Great idea.

Now it’s possible Harry the fabulous black lab was overly affectionate during my visit last Friday, but it’s also possible he showers his new sister E with this many kisses all day every day. He is enamored, and I think it’s possible he’s spent the last month with E giving her as much love as he possibly can. Happy 4 week birthday today, E, sorry these pictures took me all week to get to you!

I mean, come on now – aren’t the licks just perfect? E really didn’t seem to mind too much, except maybe in this next one, as her eyes tell Daddy she’s maybe not having as much fun with the licks as she was before :) I do love dog/baby kissing pictures. Whenever I get a good one, I tag the post, so if you like them too, there are more here (keep scrolling down the page after you click to see the other ones).

So back to the beginning. When I first arrived, baby E was snoozing on mama, but we had to grab a quick shot of her on this gorgeous antique chaise (is this a chaise?) with dragonflies on it. She’s so tiny snoozing here.

But I should let you get a good look at her. Isn’t she just perfect?

Getting some sustenance.

Relaxing on dad in her favorite hat from the delivery room.

Hanging out with mama:

Tiny toes!

With her uber-helpful awesome grandmother.

Three generations of ladies:

It was such a pleasure to meet you guys! Thanks for having me out to meet your sweet girlie.

Even though we didn’t do the pureed carrots until late in the photoshoot, I have to post them first because I LOVE these pictures. Big boy C adores his carrots, grabbing the spoon away from his mama with gusto each time :)

Mmm… and the eyelashes? Awesome.

Knuckle dimples in the background…

A real Jumperoo fan:

And mama tells me this is a signature face from Mr. C, with tongue.
Jen, it was fantastic to see you again and meet you for real. Thanks so much for having me out.

People ask me if I’ve ever shot a wedding, and I tell them I’ve only done a few of them, and that babies are more my thing. But whenever they ask, I think of this incredible couple – my husband Evan’s best friend since he was two and Sash was born, FORTY YEARS AGO yesterday. (Happy belated, Sash!)
I shot their wedding back in 2007…

their first son’s newborn pictures in 2008, then his 7 month and 14 month old pictures… and then newborn pictures for his perfect sister last summer, and now a couple of weeks ago… her six month pictures.
But first – look what that wonderful marriage a few years ago brought us :)

Isn’t she lovely?

Tush.

Not sure which thumb-sucking picture I like better. This one?

Or this one?

The similarity between this next pair of photos is pretty cool. It’s an old pic of H at 7 months on the left, and one from this shoot of L at 6 months on the right.

Smooches.

20 tiny toes…

Loved spending time with you guys as always.

I’ve been a terrible blogger this month, I’m so sorry. I’m rushing to get everyone’s photos edited and out to them as fast as I can, and that often means sacrificing the blog posts, and I’m sorry about that.
So Evan and I always say if we were to move anywhere in the world it’d be San Francisco. I love it out there. But it’s FAR! It’d be hard to leave all our friends and family, not to mention all my wonderful clients. But I’ll admit a part of me was jealous when these guys moved out there last winter – we’d just done their 2nd son’s newborn pictures, and so I was also sad to see them go. Imagine my surprise when I got an email from this mama saying they’d be in town and could I take pictures of their now 1 and 3 year olds.
For people who have fun like this? I couldn’t say no.

These are the two handsome dudes, inside sitting still for just a minute:

And the fun part of this shoot was that because they were only in town for a few days, we got to double up the photoshoot with a big monster playdate they were having with tons of their Boston friends. An old bud of big brother S’s:

They got some run-around outside time:

Even little C got to show off his run-around skills:

And some tickles from his mama:

We got some new babies:

And some old friends — beep beeeeeep…

And even some grins from a little guy who didn’t feel so well…

It was wonderful to catch some time with you guys while you were in town.

(Yikes, just noticed that this is my 400th blog post. Feels like yesterday I started doing this. Just last month I had my 900th shoot, and now the blog’s getting full of posts, too. Love it.)
This lovely lady is celebrating her First Communion next weekend, so she put her dress on for me the other day and we grabbed some photos. First, my #1 favorite shot with her sweet mama:

And this is kinda neat with her rosary beads:

A pretty profile:

And wait, you have to see this dress. The sash and the flowers at the bottom are this amazing lilac color… incredible.

Twinkley-eyed girl:

With her big brother:

This one’s storybook-level cute:

With her pop:

And as the twins’ big sister (by a year) we had to recreate a shot they’d done back when the twins were babies…

And last but not least, doesn’t Ms. A looks like a model here?

Nothing beats a mom and her baby shot, in my mind. Nothing.

Do you believe big brother C with his little 10 week old brother here? They see us pinching those sweet cheeks all the time, it’s hard for them not to do it, too. Luckily little C doesn’t seem to mind.

And when you have the coolest mobile in the world in your room, sometimes you just want to gaze up at it together:

Taking some time with bro’s toes:

A belly tickle:

And the adoration here, as little C stares at big C…. Not to mention the eyelashes! Fantastic.

A mama snuggle/attack:

Big boy holding up his head! Done with tummy time for today, thank you very much.

Three generations together:

Grandma and her boys:
Love this fat little hand shot, grabbed it as he snoozed at the end of the shoot…

Phewf! My 13th and final shoot of the April 11th Public Garden charity fundraiser mini-shoot day was with these two cuties.
First of all I have to just say that little brother T in the background here looks so much like his dad (whom I’ve known for 20+ yrs) that it’s eerie! And T’s adoration of big bro F as he dives for a runaway bubble in this shot makes me happy – so very sweet.

And a shot from behind, always adorable. Think the Janie & Jack clothing line needs any advertising shots (that’s the tag on the back of the shirts)?

This is the lollipopalooza I refer to in the title of this post. How incredible are, #1, F (on the left)’s eyelashes, and #2, these two gorgeous boys and their smiling, lollipopped faces?

A quick grandma shot at the end of the session:

And lastly, a mama tackle.

For these guys I have to start with one of the last shots we got – the kids doing their “ROCK AND ROLL!” pose, making their parents crack up even though they can’t see them…

And then go to the other end of the mood spectrum and show you this one… as the pond twinkles and big sister L tosses some food to the ducks. Isn’t the shape of her hand as it comes down from the toss beautiful here? That and her right toe, up a bit in the back?

Just one more crazy family pic, because I love them:

And a bunny ears classic:

Mama and her baby boy, looking lovely by the pond:

And last of all, a great shot of the whole crew in the willow tree. Great to see you guys again!

This is one of my favorite, favorite shots – I love the upside-down smooch from big brother R, while little brother M looks away, disinterested.

And in this one you can see the boys’ faces better. Aren’t they handsome as anything?

This one is so cool of energetic R because it’s as if the only thing that’s not moving and in focus is his eye – as if his whole body is spinning around his eyes… which is kinda what he was actually doing ;)

This one makes me giggle:

Zrrrrrbbbbbrrrrt!

I love the emotion in this one, too – having such a good time together.

Twinkley eyes and a bubble mouth:
Flying with mama:

Handsome devil.

I loved getting a chance to see you guys again, thanks so much for having me out.

No question as to my favorite, favorite picture from this session last weekend – this one of adorable three month old baby D with his lovely mama. I was kneeling getting pictures of D’s toes, and I saw the sweetest moment happening between the two of them, I had to change my focus a bit.

Big four year old brother T was just perfect:
And just like at my house with my two (same age difference as these two), he gave his brother lots of love ;)

Luckily D thinks T hung the moon:

Giggling with mama:

Handsome, handsome, handsome. Not to mention… dimples!

“My mama is soooo funny.”

This is the toe picture I was getting when the other one from the top of this post happened. Both worth having :)

What a treat to meet you guys, thanks so much for having me out.

I keep coming back to this one as I’m editing these photos - the curled toes on one foot, the relaxed toes on the other. I love to see how teenie little J’s feet are next to her mama’s thumb. We got tons of beautiful ones of this little sweet girl’s face, but I thought I’d start here, with the toes.

And this one, such a quiet, sweet moment. Utter relaxation.

She’s only 4 1/2 weeks old – isn’t she just scrumptious?

Smiling with mama:

Doesn’t she have incredible hair? So thick!

I feel like she’s telling me a story in this one:

All cozied up, and showing off her newborn highlighted hair :)

The two pretty ladies in a family full of boys:

This one kinda reminds me of a Gene Kelly/Singing in the Rain/heels-meeting-in-the-air moment – am I crazy? J looks like she’s having fun with it, too.

So wonderful to meet you, lovely girl.

First of all, apologies for the radio silence over here on the blog. I’ve spent the last week buried deep under 30 children’s nursery school photos, but I’m on the other side of it and back to the regular photoshoots. (I was the class photographer for my daughter’s nursery school – would love to show you some of the hilarity from the day, but I want to let the parents see the photos first. Suffice it to say that tiaras on picture day are totally acceptable when you’re four, which is, just on its own, pretty awesome.)
But this big girl is just about the same age as my Sadie, but she’s a mover and a shaker! I have a little lump at home who is barely crawling, and Miss E here puts her to shame. (I do love my lump, though – that sounds like not a very nice thing to say about my own baby…)
Miss E LOVES walking between her parents, and I have to say that this is one of my most favorite pictures I’ve ever taken. I love it.

And here she is, showing off her skills:

Looking at mama and daddy in the mirror:

A sweet kiss from mom – I love E’s face here, as she pulls on the necklace:

And getting some help with walking from Dad, obviously loving every minute:

Reading some books on her own:

Showing off those teeth:

And then having a quick read with Mama:

Funny mama:

And I love the squirm here – it’s so real. I know it well!

And last but not least, wearing her adorable outside garb – loving the hat!
Great to meet you guys :)

Patience is a virtue, they say, and these guys’ momma has it in spades! I promised her these photos days ago, and then life got in the way and here it is Friday. But I am so happy with these, I hope you guys are, too. After getting a chance to meet each of the boys for newborn pictures over the years, I was thrilled to get a chance to meet their new sister.
This first one is my favorite. I am in love with all the expressions!

And this next one makes me want to have a third child and get someone to take this picture of my family for me. I love the train book, and the hilarious look on sweet baby I’s face as she ignores her brother’s favorite book :)

Pretty girl and her momma:

Belly laughs:

And F has gotten so big all of a sudden, it’s amazing.

Gorgeous, gorgeous. Thanks again for your patience!
