Include grandparents in pictures whenever you have the chance. Sometimes this requires more preparation than you expect – you can’t just grab a camera anytime when your own parents/in-laws are involved. Give them a little warning – tell them to look nice for pictures and come over to play with the kids one day. That way they won’t refuse to be in pictures because their hair/makeup isn’t done right. And then it’s not just about the sitting-on-the-lap smiling pictures… ask them to play with your kids the way they always do – comb hair, read stories, color… whatever gets everybody comfortable.
