I had to work hard to make sure that every picture of this little guy wasn’t smiling, because he’s just such a happy guy. I think this is my favorite shot, though:

Look at these killer eyelashes, too:

And using his walker, a total pro:

Relaxing with the whole gang:

High-five for mom:

Showing off the crawling skills. I feel like his right hand looks like he’s drumming his fingers here, waiting for something important…

This big boy just turned ONE, so we had to take a picture in front of the mural dad painted:

Actually, this next picture is competing to be my favorite one… I’m going back and forth.

This one cracks me up – belly!

So much fun to spend time with you guys.

Yippeee! Not that I’m competitive or anything, but I was so excited to learn that Boston Baby Photos was the top fundraiser in BostonMamas.com’s Have a Heart for Haiti fundraiser earlier this month! (OK, maybe I’m a little competitive. But this is the best thing to be competitive about, isn’t it?) So exciting.
You guys helped me raise $341.30 for UNICEF, who is absorbing administrative costs so that 100% of donations go directly to children in Haiti.

First of all, apologies for the radio silence over here on the blog. I’ve spent the last week buried deep under 30 children’s nursery school photos, but I’m on the other side of it and back to the regular photoshoots. (I was the class photographer for my daughter’s nursery school – would love to show you some of the hilarity from the day, but I want to let the parents see the photos first. Suffice it to say that tiaras on picture day are totally acceptable when you’re four, which is, just on its own, pretty awesome.)
But this big girl is just about the same age as my Sadie, but she’s a mover and a shaker! I have a little lump at home who is barely crawling, and Miss E here puts her to shame. (I do love my lump, though – that sounds like not a very nice thing to say about my own baby…)
Miss E LOVES walking between her parents, and I have to say that this is one of my most favorite pictures I’ve ever taken. I love it.

And here she is, showing off her skills:

Looking at mama and daddy in the mirror:

A sweet kiss from mom – I love E’s face here, as she pulls on the necklace:

And getting some help with walking from Dad, obviously loving every minute:

Reading some books on her own:

Showing off those teeth:

And then having a quick read with Mama:

Funny mama:

And I love the squirm here – it’s so real. I know it well!

And last but not least, wearing her adorable outside garb – loving the hat!
Great to meet you guys :)

Today’s the last day for 10% of your Boston Baby Photos purchase to go to UNICEF through the Have a Heart for Haiti campaign. So go online, place a print order, order JPGs, order your gift certificate for a shoot later in the year… anything ordered by midnight tonight qualifies. I’ll do the rest.
For more information about the campaign with bostonmamas.com, you can see my earlier post.
And thank you!
This giggling eight month old guy was tons of fun in his photoshoot last weekend. And now his parents have been super patient waiting for me to finish editing their pictures. Do you believe this one with his pretty momma, as they giggle at each other?

He has a Fred Astaire vibe going on in this shot, don’t you think? Looks like his feet are ready to dance, toe tapping and all.

Too bad they’re not very good looking, eh? ;)

Big boy flying:

I think I interrupted a really good chew here.

Laughing at mom:

Taking a moment with his best buddy. Don’t they look like they’re having a really in-depth conversation?

Twinkling eyes:

Look at this fabulous crawling bum. I love mom’s smile here:

And it’s always nice to take a walk with the ‘rents. What fun to hang out and take pictures of you guys – thanks for having me!

A photographer whose work I love came up with this great idea, and I’m taking it on as a personal project too. I’m going to really try to get one family photo each month this year. I’m thinking it’s a cool time to do it. Sadie’s 9 months old, Annie’s 4, and at this time next year they’re both going to be so much bigger. Doesn’t matter what we’re wearing, what we’re doing, I’m just going to try to get us all in the same frame. And I HATE getting my picture taken. That’s why I take pictures, so I don’t have to be in them. Ick. But here goes.
This month’s shot is in the room we’re adding in our basement, in the hopes that it’ll be fun to look back at this picture as the year progresses and our renovation project finishes up (please, oh please, can it finish up?)…
Here we are in all our glory. And DUDE, it’s hard to get everybody to look in the same direction when there’s nobody behind the camera (that’s my funky new remote shutter in my hand). Three outta four ain’t bad, I figure.

And you can see the room a bit more in this one:

Anybody want to join me for this project this year?
When you’re two and a half, your new brother’s toes in your face are pretty hilarious:

S’s new brother J is just getting to the point where the smiles are flowing freely – we got tons of them during our photoshoot:

A twinkley-eyed boy:

Dad and J, making the same face. I love this so much.

Dad also drew a killer backhoe. The things I don’t draw often with two girls at home…

And a calm moment with little J – wrist rolls and all:

S with his beloved “jabba”, staring lovingly up at Dad:

Teenie J tootsies:

The boys together – I love how interested S is, and how their eyes are locked on each other in this shot.
It was a treat to spend time with you guys last weekend, and so fun to get to know your boys. So many other cool pictures to show you, can’t wait!

So today marks the day my own baby girl’s been outside in the world longer than she was inside my belly. I know they say it goes faster on the 2nd child, but SERIOUSly, they aren’t kidding. Sadie’s first year is flying by – it feels like a blink since she was born. She got her first tooth last month, and is talkative and hilarious now. She’s just mastered sitting up and recently started rolling to get gerself places (her sister was crawling at 5 months old, Sadie’s taking her time with it). She loves her three soft mushy meals a day, and really loves nothing better than her big sister. Bathtime is unquestionably her favorite time of day, her whole body tenses and she starts jumping as we finish up dinner and head to the bathroom. She is a delight, each and every day. Except when she decides it’s party time between 1-4am – which she did for the first time the other night… I think tooth #2 is on its way.
Knuckle dimples!!

Love this.

This is her giggling uproariously face:

Zzzzrrrrrrbbbbbrrrrrttttt:

My little turtle:

:)

Loving the bath:

Enjoying peas:

Cracking up:

My blue eyed girl. Happy 9 mo bday, sweetheart.

These guys live across the street from us, and are almost exactly my Annie’s age. Got to run over and grab some photos of them with their teenie one week old brother this morning. Don’t you love the urgency in their eyes as they check to see if he has stinky feet:

Before we even introduce their new brother, aren’t they kinda awesome just the two of them?

And here’s their sweet brother, only 9 days old. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! He’s got his brothers’ eyes, I think.

Investigating all of his little parts:

This one is one of my favorites of the three together – can’t you almost hear them?

And I love this sweet little face as he contemplates the bed:

Looking up at mama, wrinkley skin and all:

Gazing out the window:

And one last moment with all three boys – I think maybe they’re related :) It was so much fun to meet your newest boy, guys – thanks for having me over!

And there comes a time at any shoot when someone’s just done. This guy was no exception, but isn’t his crying face perfect?
