Brave and inspiring (not to mention dapper!)

Sweet J has been through so much in his three short years. His parents put a smile on their faces and on everyone around them, though – letting J’s sweetness shine right through:

Everybody likes to fly:

But when we went to the park on the swings, J’s pure delight shone! I love this one as he gazes at the sky and loves the movement of the swing:

He loved getting pushes from his parents:

And got a kick out of having dad behind him for a push:

Peek-a-boo!

And then back to the swing, because nothing could compare:

He got some serious height!

And a loving gaze at mama, “Thanks for taking me to the park!”

And I couldn’t forget Mom and Dad’s first baby, Rocky. Great to see all of you again this year!

J is soo precoius! nice to see him having so much fun!

Yes, toes are delicious

Mmmm – what’s better than a little yummy toe to nibble?

Handsome 6 month old R is the same age as my Sadie :)

Peering out the window over Dad’s shoulder:

Getting some help from mom with the sitting up skills:

And a perfect dimpled hand next to mama’s beautiful one (loving the rolls in the background):

I love these two profiles together, and R’s toes straight up:

Playing on the bed:

“If only I could reach it… reach… stretch…”

What a delight to meet you guys! Thanks for a great shoot. More to come!

Reeses and playtime

So I’ve developed a little obsession with this picture as I’ve been editing them… I want a Resees Cup! I love E’s expression as she anticipates the next bite :)

Here are the two cuties together – great expressions here, too!

Look at that big boy!

And who has the twinkliest (is that a word?) eyes ever?

I really love this, as they look through Shel Silverstein’s The Giving Tree together:

And I’m really liking this one, and the sort of documentary-style moment it captures…

Dad and his little guy:

And a kiss for mama:

So fun to see you guys again!

Fun with three boys

Well, today was a GORGEOUS day for pictures! Normally I am behind by a week or two with the blog posts after I shoot them, but after I shot these cute boys this morning my next shoot had to cancel (feel better, Emily!) and although I’d brought my laptop for Starbucks editing just in case, I forgot to bring pictures to edit from last weekends’ shoots! Dummy. But, fun for this family, because these are the only pics I had with me… so they got edited :)

We had such fun. I’ve known these boys since they were teenie, and I keep saying this, I know, but they’re getting so big! They have such fun together:

Don’t you love how they make each other giggle?

And they move fast, these boys:

Littlest brother T had a ride on his car:

And he showed me his digger (his curls this year are incredible!):

One of the twins, big brother N, was excited to show me his baseball skills. He was great! This moment is one of my favorites:

And then, after a few tries, his dad said, OK, this is our last one.. and he clocked it! Right out of the park! HOME RUN! Love dad’s fist here, so psyched :)

And twin brother M showed me how he is so good at his letters. I love the intense concentration here…

And the little smile on his face he got when he said… Now the letters are going to be BIG! I love it.

You guys were fun and fabulous as always.

I’m so glad we got you into the calendar – thanks for a fun morning.

thanks Jess – we had a blast too!! amazing photos as always!

Racing by ourselves

It was Halloween afternoon, these guys’ mom had grabbed an opening off the waiting list at the last minute (yay for people who are quick-on-the-draw with their blackberries/iphones!). I showed up at their house and their mom had been working on building a bonfire for a long time, but it just wasn’t catching – the wind wasn’t helping. So we thought a location shoot (sans Mom and Dad) might be fun. So the four kids and two dogs hopped into their car (big brother G drove), and we all drove around the corner to a big field with some beautiful dappled light.

Now this first picture is one of my absolute favorites. I wonder if I were a boy if it’d be my favorite? (With my new short haircut, I feel like one! But I digress…)

Aren’t they a handsome crew?

My favorite part about this one is littlest brother T’s eyes on biggest brother G.

And I love the sun peeking through the top corner of this one. I have this same shot without the sun in the corner, but I like this one better for some reason.

Littlest brother T:

Ms. M:

Mr. A:

And big brother G:

As we walked back to the cars, I grabbed a few of the bunch of them. Now, if these were my kids, I’d print one of these walking ones really huge for my front hall. LOVE.

Great to see you guys again!

Funny faces and swinging

So we (this family’s mom and I) had started to think this photoshoot might never happen. She’d gotten a gift certificate from another fabulous client of mine (thanks Tara!) a few years ago when she was still pregnant, and hadn’t had a chance to use it yet. So unbeknownst to me, she had wanted to do this shoot last fall, but that didn’t happen. Then this summer we had her on the calendar for a beach photoshoot, but her munchkins got sick. And then the weekend weather this fall has been just wretched, so we’ve been moving her around like crazy.

Well, we settled on last Saturday, Halloween. Now these guys were having a party with over 100 guests later that night, and they took down all the spiderwebs and decorations just for the shoot! So nice of them :)

Don’t you love the funny faces?

Funny faces #2 (but still so handsome!):

Tossing some leaves on mom and dad:

We grabbed a quick shot of the whole fam:

And the kids zipped around the yard:

Taking a break now and then:

To show me their sweetness:

And then back to zooming around. I love the grin as he swings, just before liftoff (he loved flying into the pile of leaves):

A little squeeze from dad:

It was so great to meet you guys! Thanks for your patience, I’m so glad we got you in there.

Hopscotch in the leaves

Little sister C is getting so big! I didn’t really think about it as these guys got their chalk and drew their hopscotch on the driveway last weekend, but it ended up looking so great in the photos. I love her Mary Janes (Mary Jane’s?) as she hops:

They had a bit of fun playing inside, too…

But we really couldn’t beat the fall leaves and pretty light outdoors. Love the toothless grin:

Both little guys got a kick out of swinging:

And running straight at me:

So fun to play in the leaves with you guys!

She’s 6 months!

I first met this sweet little lady’s big brother when he was six months old, and I’ve gotten to see him grow every six months since then. And now here he is a big boy with a six month old sister:

Aren’t they gorgeous?

First Mr. G:

And one of all the boys:

And then a bunch to showcase her sweetness:

Getting some smooches from her bro (he loved kissing her!):

I love these fingers as she reaches, reaches…

You can’t beat knuckle dimples.

And there comes a point where you just get tired. Every parent’s seen this moment…

But sometimes you’ve got one more good giggle in y0u.
