Summer love for a new sweet girl

Aren’t four year old big bro K and 2 year old big sis F doing a great job holding teenie little E?

and then, of course, a yawn and a zerbert:

These guys were so wonderfully active during the shoot (and all the time, I’m sure). I love that you can almost hear them both talking in this one, while baby E snoozes away. The benefits of being #3 – you can sleep through anything!

Giggles and a great smile:

Both big girl F and big boy K have those deep, rich, dark brown eyes I just love:

Sweet baby E was only 3 weeks old:

This one looks like one of those Boston Globe Magazine photos that tells a story, doesn’t it? I love the perspective, and K peering out the window, hoping to be released soon :)

See what I mean about those big beautiful brown eyes?

And of course when you have the whole family at the beach house, you kind of need to do a few group shots, especially when one part of the family is moving to Beijing momentarily!

It was a pleasure meeting the whole gang, and I hope the move goes smoothly :)

Tootsies and cuteness

Sweet N was 12 weeks old at our photoshoot in late August, and (again) I got excited because she was just about the same age as my new baby girl. I always love it when children’s ages match up with mine… and beautiful N was no exception.

Aren’t her knuckles and wrinkley little hands the best, as she holds her mama’s hands?

And a whole family of toes: (great idea Holly!)

As she snacks a bit, we took some more time with toes:

Lovely bright eyes:

And just like my girlie, she’s chewing like a champion already!
Wonderful to meet you guys.

I love the photo of Norah where she's looking up at the light and has a slightly furrowed brow. It's like she's just come to some epiphany. Lovely photos.

Loving the North End

Look at those chubby perfect legs! Sweet girl R was loving the walk we took around her North End neighborhood on a very hot day last weekend:

She had some fun flying in the air:

And inside, in the A/C, we read some books with mom:

And aren’t the lips perfect?

All throughout the photoshoot, R kept making this fantastic expression – as if to say, “Where is it?” or “What do you think?”… her hands outstretched and a questioning look in her eye:

And her dad the historian helped me when I erroneously said, “Oh, we should take a picture here with the Old North Church in the background, that’ll look neat”… and he kindly corrected me… “Ah, that’s St. Stephen’s…” Oops :)

Either way, I still think this shot looks neat. And after living here my whole life and shooting innumerable families in the North End, you’d think I’d be able to get my landmarks straight. I think R was just too cute, I lost the ability to think straight!

Thanks for a great photoshoot, guys. Can’t wait to show you the rest of the pictures.

Wow, when you said you were having family pictures taken, I thought you meant you were going to Sears or something. These are wonderful! And of course Dad has to turn the photo shoot into a tour of the North End :)

This little monkey’s getting big!

I remember from our first shoot four or five years ago that this sweet girl’s mama called her “Monk” – for monkey. As I was editing these pictures I got a kick out of how many times monkeys came up…

A little monkey in the middle:

And serious monkey bar skills…

OK, so that was it, no other monkey things… But then she had some fun in the pool:

Her diving was fantastic:

And her new puppy was very attentive. I love this shot of them, nose to nose:

I always feel like the visiting great auntie when I say it over and over again, but “S, you’re getting so big!” Our first shoot was when she was 18 months old, then again at 3 years old… and now at six. I hope I’ll see you guys again before she turns 12!

Really great to see you :)
